Relates to a wine that is soft, smooth on the palate and also well matured.
A hard, slightly bitter finish to a wine that has the flavour of metal, usually copper or iron.
This very persistent, highly undesirable taste is sometimes found in sweet dessert wines; it is caused by bacterial growth. The most disturbing factor is that the taste is most evident, and persists long after the wine has left the mouth.
